Whereas:
The pension plan offered by the Free Methodist Church is an excellent plan, and;
All pension reporting is administered by both conference pension agents and FMCNA human resources staff, and;
Reporting, payment, and collections are conducted to varying degrees by both conference pension agents, local church treasurers and the FMCNA human resources and financial support staff, which;
Creates double work and opportunity for mismatched reporting and delays in communication to all parties involved, and;
Technology is available today which would allow for direct access to pastors and churches from FMCNA human resources and financial support staff, which;
Makes conference pension agent functions potentially unnecessary and cumbersome.
Therefore, be it resolved:
That the Free Methodist Church of North America’s Department of Human Resources provide direct billing and reporting to local churches and pastors enrolled in the pension plan, rather than relying upon the conference pension agents.
Does the resolution have a direct relationship to the vision and mission of the Free Methodist Church?
Yes.
How will the proposed change help us accomplish our vision and mission?
It would create a more streamlined and efficient structure for pension administration.
The Resolutions Committee rates this resolution as:
(B) Recommended – worthy of review
Comments:
The North Central Conference understanding of ABC was A meriting review on the floor of the conference, B meriting review by the appropriate subcommittee of the BOA. NCC recommended B level resolutions have this in mind.
