Whereas:
The Consecrated Deacon is a positive and important innovation in the Free Methodist Church which honors the New Testament spirit of deacons — indiviudals set apart by local churches for particular acts of servant-leadership;
And should be promoted and used to elevate and equip lay leaders throughout the Free Methodist churches, and yet;
The Deacon’s Handbook is cumbersome, difficult to follow, and patterned after a path meant to lead to ordination (Apollos):
Therefore, be it resolved:
The Ministerial Credentialing Services team in conjunction with the Commission of Leadership Development be tasked with developing a more efficient and helpful tool for development of Consecrated Deacons throughout the North American Free Methodist Church.

Yes.
How will the proposed change help us accomplish our vision and mission?
Increasing clarity for a path of solid lay leadership development and recognition is core to Methodist heritage, biblical principles, and will expand the ability of local churches to both minister to its members and reach out to communities.

Comments:
The North Central Conference understanding of ABC was A meriting review on the floor of the conference, B meriting review by the appropriate subcommittee of the BOA. NCC recommended B level resolutions have this in mind.
