Whereas:

1) The life of faith calls for bold initiative and entrepreneurial action and;

2) God gives us a vision, insight and direction, some contacts, like-minded team members, but;

3) We also encounter big adversity, opposition, and heartache, yet;

4) God is faithful to lead if we are faithful to follow.

Therefore, be it resolved:

1) That the Board of Bishops establish a commission or task force to embrace and encourage all the joys and challenges of entrepreneurial innovation that clearly defines and directs the mission of the Free Methodist Church of North America;

2) That members of these elect be representative of each Conference of the FMC whose role is to empower, train, and fund with supervision the proposed concepts of innovation;

3) That communication among the Conference Innovative Coordinators be the hallmark of their work knowing that success comes from our faithful Father and to Him be the glory and praise.

Does the resolution have a direct relationship to the vision and mission of the Free Methodist Church?

Yes.

How will the proposed change help us accomplish our vision and mission?

Enterpreneurial leadership will advance the FMCNA.

The Resolutions Committee rates this resolution as:

(C) Rejected – anticipate General Conference rejection

Comments:

The requirement of a new conference position would likely make this not feasible, but the concept of fostering innovation is very important.
