Whereas:

the circumstances of the culture require members to spend time away from their homes for empolyment pruposes, missionary assignments and military duty and

WHEREAS members may be receiveing medical/long term care and are prohibited from attending the annual society meeting and

WHEREAS these members have a history of consistent loyalty for and investment/interest in their local church’s ministry and connot be associate members of another Free Methodist Church due to geographical proximity,

Therefore, be it resolved:

that members in good standing with their local society be given the right ot cast absentee ballots. These ballots shall be mailed to them postmarked at least ten (10) calendar days prior to the society meeting and be received at the church’s mailing address not later than 48 hours prior to the annual society meeting. The unopened ballots should be received only by the society secretary to be counted at the appropriate voting time.

It recognizes the reality of our transitory culture.
